Emily is an enthusiastic teacher and an experienced classical soprano. As a teacher, Emily uses the foundations of classical vocal technique to help her students improve in all styles of music. Her lessons emphasize music literacy and musicianship skills in addition to vocal technique, with the goal of developing students into independent musicians and artists who can guide their own practice. Emily has performed across the United States and in Italy, where she sang the role of Frasquita in a new production of Carmen at the Narnia Festival. Locally, Emily has sung with the Hawai’i Opera Theater Chorus in Le nozze di Figaro and La Traviata. Emily was also a soprano soloist for the Hawai’i premiere of Craig Hella Johnson’s oratorio Considering Matthew Shepard. She received her M.M. in Voice Performance from the University of Hawai’i, where she studied with Dr. Maya Hoover, and is now currently a student of Andrea DelGiudice.
