Kelsea Armstrong is a professional jazz vocalist who specialtizes in jazz/soul and R&B. She studied at The University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa and spent almost five years as the premier female vocalist for the university jazz ensemble. Armstrong also has a foundational background in classical voice from years of studying choral music and opera.

 

Her fluid background creates a friendly lesson approach to all ages, allowing her to personalize musical objectives based on her students’ interests  and capabilities. Kelsea is a gigging musician who has played at venues such as -The Blue Note Hawaii and - Smalls Jazz Club, in New York City. Her education in jazz has equipped her with a repertoire of many jazz standards and the ability to read vocal charts; landing her gigs with groups like - Honolulu Jazz Quartet and the - Mike Lewis & Friends Big Band. These qualities make Kelsea a great choice for new and experienced singers who are interested in learning a strong fundamental base, jazz/blues approach to singing, improvising, and method of musicianship.
