Honolulu-born pianist, vocalist, poet, and published author Kimberly Kau is based in Mililani, Hawai‘i.

A retired secondary education teacher with Hawai‘i’s Department of Education, Kimberly dedicated over 13 years to inspiring students across the islands.  With more than 50 years of piano experience and over 40 years as a vocalist, Kimberly still considers herself a lifelong student of music—believing that “we should learn something new and interesting every single day.”

She began piano lessons at the age of seven and went on to serve as an accompanist for the Punahou School choir during her high school years, later continuing her musical journey at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa, where she proudly earned her degree.

Today, Kimberly continues to share her musical talents as both a solo pianist and vocalist, performing at her local church and for special events upon request.

One of her favorite quotes beautifully captures her love of music:

“Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.”

—Berthold Auerbach

Kimberly looks forward to meeting new students, teaching at Chuck James Music School, and sharing her lifelong passion for the joy and beauty of music.
