Koda's love for music started at an early age of 9 years old . He was introduced to the violin while living in Southern California, and later moved to Hawaii with his family in 2008. Koda was captivated by the local instrument, the ukulele, and began taking ukulele lessons from the esteemed Kānaka Maoli kupuna, Sage Chee. Sage, who was a skilled and wise musician told Koda, "I will teach you everything I know, and I hope that you become a better musician than me, but you must promise that you will only use what I teach you to praise God, and create music only for the greatest good of humanity". At the time, Koda didn't fully understand the gravity of Sage's words but he agreed wholeheartedly. As he continued to explore his musical talents, he found joy in playing guitar, ukulele, piano, drums, and violin. His talent was quickly recognized and he won 1st prize in his category at the Johnny Kai Brown Bags to Stardom Contest in 2014.

Since then, Koda has performed at numerous events, from open mics and festivals to local gigs in restaurants and cafes around Oahu. He believes that music has the power to heal and aspires to create music that helps the world to heal. Overall, Koda's dedication to music and his desire to create music for the greater good is truly inspiring.
