NJ Nakapuahi Chang is a dedicated high school teacher with over 30 years of professional experience as an entertainer. Passionate about delivering engaging lessons to students in Hawaii, NJ is focused on promoting academic progress through continuous monitoring and is committed to developing effective curriculum strategies. With a BA in communications from Southern New Hampshire University, NJ has been a high school teacher since 2004, specializing in dance, drama, chorus, ukulele, and Hawaiian studies. 


 Beyond the classroom, NJ's extensive background in the entertainment industry spans three decades. As a professional vocalist and musician, she has collaborated with notable bands like 808 the Band, served as a background vocalist for Brian McKnight, contributed as a session vocalist for Steel Pulse, performed with the Honolulu Symphony, and entertained military audiences worldwide through five tours with Armed Forces Entertainment. NJ has also graced the stage multiple times at the Blue Note Jazz Club in Honolulu, showcasing her talent and adding depth to her rich professional portfolio.
