Originally from Minneapolis, MN, Kayla Wig is a vocalist, educator, and contemporary musician with a passion for helping students build confidence through music. She earned her Bachelor of Music in Music Education with a songwriting minor from the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami, where she studied as a contemporary voice and guitar principal. Kayla now teaches K–5 music in Hawai‘i public schools.

Outside the classroom, Kayla is an active performer. She sings with the Honolulu Blend Show Chorus, plays in a gigging band, and releases original music under her artist project Kayla Via, available on all major streaming platforms. Her blend of contemporary performance experience and educational training allows her to offer students meaningful, well-rounded musical guidance—both in their technique and in their artistic expression.
