Noah Alcantara is a Filipino-American, Tenor, and educator pursuing his Master of Music in
Classical Vocal Performance at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa. A recent graduate of San
Francisco State University, he holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance and previously
earned multiple associate degrees in music, psychology, and humanities from Grossmont
College in San Diego.
Noah has performed a wide range of repertoire in Italian, French, German, English, and
Tagalog. His undergraduate senior recital featured works by Curtis, Fauré, Brahms, Hundley,
and diverse Filipino composers Dr. Francisco Santiago and Nicanor Abelardo. Noah is
passionate about preserving and promoting Filipino Art Song (Kundiman) and continues to
advocate for its inclusion in academic and performance spaces.
He has performed in opera scenes, art song recitals, and choral ensembles with institutions
including UH Mānoa Chamber Singers and Opera Workshop at both SFSU and UH Mānoa.
Noah has performed as the role of Aeneas in Henry Purcell's "Dido and Aeneas" opera. Notably,
he was most recently selected as an Orvis Vocal Scholar for the inaugural Orvis Guest Artist
Residency, where he worked closely with artists Andrew Garland and José Meléndez.
As an educator, Noah has taught voice, guitar, piano, and bass various ages of students. His
approach blends strong fundamentals with a joyful, student-centered learning environment. He
is a private instructor and ensemble coach, and has served in music leadership roles at several
churches and community programs throughout California and Hawai‘i.
